SUMMARY

Papercutz is a publisher of all-ages reading material. We have designed our website to be a safe and fun environment for our readers, their parents, and our many publishing and promotional partners to learn more about our products and engage in a community that is passionate about children’s publishing. To that end, we take your online privacy very seriously. Although there are several areas of our website where viewers are invited to share personally identifying information in order to participate in certain functions, we do not collect such personally identifying information unless you specifically choose to provide it. Any personally identifying information collected in this manner is used solely for the relevant purpose described in each instance as described below. We will never share your information with third parties except in rare instances when we may be required to by law or as otherwise described below. By using this website, you signify your agreement to this Privacy Policy.

Please read below for further details on what information we gather and how it is used.

The Information You Provide

Viewers are encouraged to enjoy our entire website anonymously. While you explore, you will discover certain website features that prompt you to provide us with information about yourself. We consider the following, among other things, to be personally identifiable information: first and last name, e-mail address, street address and phone number. Your use of these interactive website features is entirely voluntary and is not required to view any of the content appearing on the website.

INTERACTIVE COMMUNITY FEATURES

In most instances, such as your participation in blog commentary and online forums, we are seeking only your email address for purposes of comment moderation, as well as a name which can be a nickname or other anonymous identity. This information is not used to correspond with you, nor will it be added to any mailing lists without your prior consent through our Opt-In process described below.

OPT-IN MAILING LIST

Should you wish to maintain contact with us by receiving our newsletters and marketing communications, when you choose to add yourself to our Opt-In mailing list you will be asked to provide a name (or nickname) and email address. This will only be used to send you the newsletters and other communications you have requested, and each communication to you will include an “Unsubscribe” link so you can easily remove your information from the Opt-In mailing list. This mailing list is considered private and will never be shared with a third-party under any circumstances other than those outlined below, nor will we use it for any purpose other than the one described at the time of your opting in.

CONTESTS AND PROMOTIONS

From time to time, we may run special contests or promotions that require your name, age, and contest submission, as well as your email address or other contact information, in order to enter. In compliance with the Federal Trade Commission’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, Papercutz will not condition a child’s participation in an activity on that child disclosing more personally identifiable information than is reasonably necessary to administer the activity. We will use the contact information provided to inform you when you’ve won a given promotion and to deliver any prizes. During the course of such special promotions and afterwards, we may publicly post the first name, first initial of last name, state, and age or grade level of visitors who voluntarily provided such information when choosing to participate in the promotion. We will never reveal any other personally identifying information that may be collected during the promotion. Papercutz will sometimes co-sponsor or present promotions with identified third parties. Should your voluntary participation in those promotions involve leaving Papercutz.com and visiting a website hosted by a third party promotional partner, that participation is no longer governed by the Papercutz privacy policy.

PURCHASING PRODUCTS

Papercutz website visitors have the option of purchasing books directly from us through our online shop. During the ordering process you will be asked to share your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, credit card or other payment information, and your billing address. This information is used solely for processing and fulfilling your purchase and to communicate with you should a problem arise with your order. It is never used by Papercutz for any other purpose, and will never be shared with a third party under any circumstances other than those described below. During the ordering process you will have the option to store your information securely on our database by creating an account. This information is stored for the sole purpose of making your future purchases quicker and easier by “remembering” your personal information and auto-populating the relevant information fields for you. Creating such an account is not required to purchase products from Papercutz. We use third party service providers to both process your payments and fulfill your orders, and any information you provide to us is transmitted to these third parties to enable the completion of your order.

CONTENT SUBMISSION

If you choose to submit content for publication (for example, in a “letter to the editor”), we may publish (electronically or in print) the content submitted, your first name, first initial of last name, state, and age or grade level.

PERSONAL CORRESPONDENCE

Lastly, when you contact us through our displayed email addresses and contact forms, we will have access to your email address. This will only be used to reply to your message and won’t ever be stored or used by Papercutz for any other purpose.
